Seafit Events bring free dental checks and immediate treatment to Fishermen and their families.
A plethora of services including free RNID hearing checks, wellbeing information, welfare chats, Physiotherapy information, Andys Mans Club and much more will be available on the day
As part of our SEAFIT programme on the 4th October in Dunbar, an initiative aimed at providing fishing vessels with 200 defibrillators and first aid kits, along with an extra 50 first aid kits designated for boats operated by a single fisherman will be available and can be arranged by meeting Sandra Welch, the CEO of SHS, on the day or by contacting 07392998964 or sandrawelch@seahospital.org.uk
Heart disease remains a significant health concern worldwide, claiming around 460 lives daily in the UK due to heart and circulatory conditions, including many within the fishing community. With an increase in health issues like heart attacks and COPD among aging fishermen, our project aims to tackle this urgent need by supplying vital life-saving equipment. Training on how to use the defibrillators is provided at no cost, and we also ensure that the devices are regularly maintained with replacement batteries and pads for five years.
