The John Muir Country Park is an area of coastline, woodland and grassland named after John Muir, Dunbar born American Naturalist who is referred to as the Father of Conservation. This park holds within it huge areas of reserves which can be home to many different species of native wildlife.
Within John Muir Country Park is a large free to use playpark next to the Belhaven Bay car park. With newly built toilet block this park is great for a day out with a picnic. With play equipment for kids this strikes the perfect balance for families who wish to have fun with the kids whilst enjoying some of Dunbar's most natural beauty.
