Being Earth Expression; Wild Art Tales with The Woods
in Association with European Land Art Festival 2026
Thursday, 16 July, 2 – 4pm
Lochend Woods (Yew Tree Circle, just beyond ‘Community Mandala and Land Collaborations), Kelly Road, Dunbar, EH42 1QZ
"Robin,
catching our attention,
perches with wrinkling branch.
He sings with the soft greening moss
and crisping brown leaves
from and into
clear afternoon air.
We’re offering attention;
seeing, listening … "
An opportunity to gather together within the Yew Tree Circle to be guided into a particular invitational wander and conversation with the woods returning with a likely surprising tale that you might otherwise walk past without noticing. Mystery willing and with the tales from the woods, we will offer previously unseen collaborative art shaped by the woods and our gathering. We may catch a glimpse in remembering the awe and wonder of ourselves within and as a living animate world.
This offering is for curious folks willing to be open to what and who may arise (or not;); for lovers of Earth longing for deeper intimacy and aliveness with ourselves, each other and life unfolding. It’s for longing storyteller art-makers … which, in one way or another, is all of us.

Wendy is a wilderness guide to soul, published poet and writer, exhibited artist, speaker and teacher who lives in Dunbar, East Lothian. They have followed the threads of soul from 1995 since an encounter in a forest when a tree sang inviting them to sing in. When doing so, the forest sang the song in wild harmonies. This encounter of many took them on ‘the pathless path’ of the current culture through life participating in a cultural renaissance. They have been inviting people into deep remembering of Earth’s art in different ways ever since.
“Every ‘thing’ expresses Earth through their particular art, poetry, frequency, shape, and living with intertwining animate relation to each another, seen and unseen, heard and silent.”
