West Barns Live: Scots Baroque

7:30 pm - August 27, 2022
West Barns Village Hall
Edinburgh Road
West Barns, East Lothian EH4 1UP

Scots Baroque is an innovative early music ensemble based in Glasgow. They are all classically trained, with a starting point of music from the baroque period (17th / 18thcenturies). They also experiment with a fusion of techniques and genres, including improvisation, folk / traditional styles, and contemporary music written for old instruments. Individually, they perform with leading ensembles such as Dunedin Consort, Concerto Caledonia, Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment, and Les Musiciens de Saint Julien. They bring together an impressive range of experience, with programmes combining the latest research, unusual repertoire, and a flair for dramatic performance. The members are László Rózsa (Recorders), Aaron McGregor (Violin), Lucia Capellaro (Cello), Alex McCartney (Theorbo & Guitar).
