Route Description:
Starting a short walk into the village on the high street, the race follows a riverside footpath and farm tracks to the foot of the Law. The ascent is a steep rock scramble up the east ridge on the edge of the old quarry followed by a fast grassy descent west then back on to farm tracks. Over a bridge and up to Pencraig Woods for a final kicker followed by a long fast descent back to East Linton. The race will finish within the Gala field. Though any roads crossed will either be closed, marshalled or quiet, please take care and follow marshall instructions at all times. The outgoing route involves a wade across the River Tyne which is usually no more than a welcome cooling but sometimes becomes a raging torrent forcing a course detour by the footbridge.
