The Whales at Thorntonloch Talk

Dr James Herring, who published STRANDED: The Whales at Thorntonloch in 1950 will give a talk about this tragic event when 147 pilot whales were stranded on Thorntonloch beach.

The talk is being given in association with BeGreen and will see funds raised for Dunbar Foodshare.

Dunbar and District History Society (DDHS) has organised the event, the talk is ticketed and numbers are limited.  Tickets area available from

BeGreen office on Dunbar High Street, as well as at the Town House in Dunbar.

There will be a display of photographs from the 1950 event in the BeGreen office for two weeks before the talk. The book is available from the Town House and other High Street locations.
