Voltalia UK invites you to participate in their second consultation period for the proposed Springfield Solar Farm project. They are using this consultation to share how feedback to date has informed their plans and they welcome further feedback.
The Springfield Solar Farm project
As you may be aware, Voltalia is seeking to develop a Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in East Lothian, Scotland. The site is near Oldhamstocks, approximately 8km southeast of Dunbar and comprises a solar farm of up to 165MWp and a BESS of up to 150MW with associated infrastructure.
The second consultation period is open between March 3rd and March 30th 2025.
Voltalia are holding a public drop-in event on Thursday 13th March 2025 at Oldhamstocks Village Hall, TD13 5XN, 3pm - 8pm.

Any consultation responses must be received no later than 30th March 2025. Responses received after this time may not be considered. There are several ways to submit responses:

Personal details will be held securely and used solely for purposes in connection with the pre-application consultations, application process, assessment and determination of the application and otherwise in connection with the further development of the scheme.
Next steps
Voltalia UK intend to submit the application for consent to be determined by Scottish Ministers and administered by the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit (ECU) in May 2025. Once submitted, you can give further feedback to the ECU on the final application.
