Ridge Open Day and Harvest Feast

Join us for day of workshops, celebrations and a showcase of creative outputs, a community feast and a pit firing.

10.30 am Renewal: A writing workshop with Colin Will, Rogers Land, Black Bull Close, High Street, Dunbar

Local writer Colin Will explores the theme of “Renewal” with participants, encouraging them to think about how the topic can include personal, social and environmental renewal, change and regrowth.

11am Pinhole photography on the High Street with Richard Eyers, 88 High Street Dunbar

Participants will load the camera, choose their subject and composition, and then create the image, which is developed inside the camera which is also a miniature darkroom.

12pm Talk on Flesher’s Close building project and Ridge Services, Flesher’s Close, High Street, Dunbar

Hear about the construction of the new wellbeing centre and it’s challenges with Architect Akiko Kobayashi and it’s wellbeing services with Amanda Doig.

2- 3.30pm Creating Virtual Dunbar: Laser scanning Black Bull Close with John McCreadie, 88 High Street Dunbar

An illustrated talk on the art and science of laser scanning and how the technology is being used to create a digital model of medieval Dunbar including a demonstration of how the laser scanner works using objects found on site at the Black Bull Close.

3pm - 5pm Pit firing and Community Feast, Empire Close

Join us for a festive celebration of our summer school activities and a showcase of our Ceramic Outputs. Apple Pie Making all day
