Mark I’Anson Exhibition

Wrapped in a Pea Green Boat, an exhibition by Mark I'Anson.

The sea runs through this exhibition though where is it actually visible. Fishing boats are everywhere yet no fish are caught. Wee ships are built, bigger boats depart for destinations unknown. Sailors pose, wallpaper fades, words spill, hands clap and old wounds are saved. Ian Hamilton Findlay and the model ships that sail through my flat are as great an influence as is the North Sea and the harbours that border it. Memories both real and imagined lie just below the surface. A voyage of sorts is ongoing...
