In this typically adventurous and thought-provoking programme Jeremy Denk offers an eclectic mix of 19th century to present-day female composers, often unjustly neglected by history, showcasing a huge range of approaches to the piano. In the second half, two masterpieces by a pair of composers whose lives and ideas were so often connected – the last ever completed work by Schumann, and Brahms’s towering ‘Handel Variations’
