This full day workshop combines a morning of learning about two different techniques - watercolour on fabric and hand embroidery. You will then bring them together to create a mixed media piece of art for your wall. The themes of the class will be nature, animals and flowers.

The workshop starts with the basics of watercolour painting on fabric - learning how to control the water and prevent colour bleed, mixing your colours and creating shapes with the brush.

Next you will learn some basic hand embroidery stitches by completing a stitch wheel and we will discuss the best stitches to use in combination with your painting.

Your final piece will be of your choosing. There will be plenty of examples to take inspiration from plus designs you can use to help you on your way.

No experience is needed, just enthusiasm for experimenting with needle and paint. All material is provided, please  bring your lunch.
