The Pop Up Shop is back
Join us for a series of walk and talks and creative activities with a Dunbar High Street and Closes Theme. There will be walk and talks and creative activities throughout the week check out the noticeboard for more info. There will be stalls from other community groups including the Ridge so you can find out more about some of their projects. See program and booking info below.
MONDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER
6PM Sketching Session on the High Street
Come and learn how to draw the High Street buildings and closes. Booking required - see below.
TUESDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2PM Dating buildings: How old do you think your building or close is? Join us for this guided walk around Dunbar, looking at some of the historic buildings and closes on the High Street. We will be looking up at some of the buildings and learning about the clues to find out more about their construction and development. Guided by a Conservation Architect.

5 - 5.45PM Mineral Paint Masterclass
Come and find out more about using paint on your historic building. A mineral paint specialist will tell you about the do’s and dont’s of painting your building or close followed by a walkabout the high street and a Q&A.

6-7PM Commissioning and managing historic building repair projects, some do’s and dont’s
Come along for this short illustrated talk explaining the processes involved in securing repairs to historic buildings. We will cover the steps that should be taken, including assessing what needs to be done, identifying suitable Contractors, obtaining prices and managing the process. There will then be an opportunity to ask questions of the speaker, who is a Conservation Architect.

5.30PM Tenement Maintenance and Repair
Under One Roof (please note this is at the The Dunbar Town House)
Join us for a free and informative evening on how to best maintain and manage your tenement building. This event is for landlords and owner-occupiers of tenement flats, or anyone interested
in the maintenance and conservation of tenement buildings. Presentations will cover managing common repairs, how to navigate roofing and gutter maintenance, dealing with mixed tenure repairs, and an update from Dunbar CARS. We will be joined by a conservation architect who will give a presentation on roof repairs for tenements. There will also be a Q&A session at the end. Booking required - see below.
