East Linton Community Hall
75 High Street
East Linton , EH40 3BQ

Take part in the launch of the East Lothian Biodiversity Collective, to meet others across East Lothian who are interested in or involved in projects and activities for Biodiversity. There will be an opportunity, over a cup of tea/coffee to collectively share what topics and site visits would be helpful for future peer-to-peer learning, and what skills and resources can be offered or are needed to support each others' projects and activities.

This will be followed by the first on-site visit to Twa Burns Wood over Drylaw hilll near East Linton (see here for more details about the project from its' inception (now implemented) https://www.cael.community/twa-burns-wood: a collaborative project between a landowner and a local community group. This will be a great opportunity to hear from the Twa Burns team's experience of tree planting for biodiversity, the challenges, successes, and learnings they've encountered along the way in relation to trees, birds and wildlife. You'll be able to experience the magic of Twa Burns Wood, and see how it helps connect with other habitats, enhancing a local wildlife corridor.

The event will start in the upstairs meeting room of East Linton Community Hall, with teas and biscuits; followed by a lovely 20-30 minutes walk to Twa Burns Wood over the hill.  If a long walk is tricky for you, please get in touch hello@eastlothianclimatehub.org as we may be able to make arrangements for more local parking nearer the wood.

Buses X7 and 120 are frequent to East Linton; and there is the nearby train station for anyone wanting to travel by train. Parking at East Linton can be either on the high street or in a car park opposite the community hall by the library; or further afield at the train station.
