You’ll love our atmospheric, historic chapel, colourfully lit by magnificent stained-glass windows from Edinburgh’s St Giles’ Cathedral. And, our contemporary reception bar is the perfect place for celebrating with fizz and relaxing with fine wines, whiskies and beers.
Your guests will be amazed to see the chapel easily transformed from a dramatic dining hall then re-emerge as a dance hall.
“When Euan and I restored the Harbour Chapel, we wanted to create a versatile events venue that works well for private parties, local events, bar hire and weddings. The vibe had to be ‘cool, connected and classy’!” says owner, Fiona Veitch.
“So, we’re delighted that public events this spring included Adam Holmes (the BBC award-winning folk singer), Marcia and Lyle’s Sound Healing and a talk with culinary travel writer Caroline Eden about her book ‘Cold Kitchen’.”
Two visitors sum up their own impressions:
"Attended a book event at the Harbour Chapel and what a lovely venue. Got a quick drink in their bar, which is a very stylish welcoming room with very friendly staff. And then you go into the main event room, the Chapel, which is a delight. Recommend this venue wholeheartedly. Enjoy."
“Striking and unique. You can tell it has been restored to the highest standard and quality of workmanship and materials. We loved the fact that so many of the chapel’s fittings have been repurposed like the organ pipes, collection dishes and original features – the pulpit and pews were still there. The bar area had quirky features but was also so modern. It has been a bold move to go with the dark blue in the interior but works so well with the stunning stained glass.”
If you live in East Lothian, you can take advantage of our special rates. See the events venue’s website.
