The Hallhill Tenants and Residents Association is a group which started in November 2018 and represents both tenants and residents of over 660 households. The TRA is actively involved in the Planning Consultation process regarding the development of Hallhill North and Spott Road as well as issues around the local road network, antisocial behaviour. The TRA also works with East Lothian council, builders from the Hallhill development and area factors with the aim of advocating for all tenants and residents. Current Actions
Current actions for the Hallhill Tenants and Residents Association include:-
Maintaining an oversight of the maintenance work still required to bring the Estate roads up to an adoptable standard;
Keeping under review, in liaison with Transport Scotland, the speed limit on the A1 between Thistly Cross and Spott Road Roundabouts, including the traffic noise on this stretch of carriageway; and
Holding regular on-site meetings, and maintaining dialogue, with the area Factor to discuss works requiring to be carried out around the estate.
All these actions are in line with with Hallhill Tenants and Residents Associations commitments to:-
Promote Hallhill as a safe and attractive place to live;
Improve road safety;
Work with the area Factor to ensure value for money in managing all aspects of works requiring to be undertaken around the Estate; and
Promote positive working relationships with partners and stakeholders.
