After last weekβs excellent 4-1 victory, we are back in action, under the lights at New Countess Park.
We take on the well renowned Edinburgh based side, Leith Athletic FC, tonight. Last time the teams met, the Edinburgh based side ran out 4-1 winners. After going 2-0 down, Keiran Paterson pulled a goal back, before a further two goals went to Leith. Leith currently sit in 8th position in the East Region, having defeated the likes of Edinburgh South (1-5) and Newtongrange Star (1-4), whilst taking points off Haddington Athletic. The young Seasiders are aware, every week is very tough!
Itβs a bit of weight off the shoulders of the young Seasidersβ shoulders, gaining a very positive result last week. Jay Miller scored a very well taken hat-trick, whilst Caelan Gourlay notched his 8th goal of the season. Whilst the result was a fantastic bonus, there has been some good performances in recent weeks, against the likes of Spartans, Arniston Rangers & Penicuik Athletic. The squad have worked really hard during that period, weβll be looking to build on that tonight.
We have a number of players potentially returning tonight, including the likes of Ben Weir, Jasiu Zakrzewski & Zak Gray. And, after 7 weeks, Jamie Brown can potentially make a return tonight. These can be huge boosts for the squad, as the injury list has eased massively. All of the above, will help supplement some of the great form from Jay Miller, Cammy Maxwell, Caelan Gourlay and Kane Walker, to name a few.
We are back under the lights tonight, at New Countess Park. All players from the youth section at DUCFC gain entry for free, this evening. Letβs get behind these boys and give them a strong support.
