Wild River Walk

10:00 am - 1:00 pm February 22, 2026
Wild River Walk Two -Spott Burn Upper Reaches.
An exploratory walk with Renatus Derbridge
The second of three 'Wild River Walks' (every last Sunday of Jan, Feb and Mar) exploring the Spott Burn from the river's point of view. We will stay as close as possible to the water and let the river be our teacher. Where we meet puzzles we will pause, share observations and ask what this shows about access, land-use, history, wildlife and possible futures -and about our relationship to this place.
It will be an exploratory, playful co-discovery (not a formal guided tour)!
This month we will explore some of the upper reaches, starting up the Brock Burn and Gairy Burn from near Frizzles Wood/Burnhead. There will be some rough walking and we'll be higher up in the hills. It is likely to be quite wet underfoot so wellies are advisable and warm, waterproof clothing appropriate for any weather will be essential. Children from about 10+ years welcome.
FREE. All welcome.
Please book a place as numbers are limited. Organised by Sustaining Dunbar.
We will try to arrange car sharing to the meeting place where possible.
