Additional Opening Times:

We run new surf therapy courses in Spring and Autumn. Our surf club runs from April until it gets too cold. We usually finish up with our Santa surf in December.

Description:

Wave Project Scotland is a mental health charity for children. We receive referrals for surf therapy from organisations such as CAMHS, schools and GPs for young people who are facing a range of challenges including bereavement, social isolation and learning difficulties.

Any young person who needs us is welcome. Over six weeks we spend time together in a safe, positive environment playing, talking and learning to surf. After the six weeks our new surfers are invited to join our surf club. Here they can widen their social circle meeting new volunteers, surfers and progress their own surf skills too. Some of our surfers become young volunteers and come back to help our new surfers which is lovely to see and rewarding for all. The magic in our charity comes from our fabulous volunteers who give up their time to work 1:1 with our surfers.

We are always looking for new and friendly volunteers – no surfing skills necessary and all are welcome!
