The Bridge to Nowhere

The Bridge to Nowhere

Description:

This famous bridge which leads to the sandy expanse of Belhaven Bay serves a purpose offering a route over the Biel Water which is a stream that runs into Belhaven Bay.  However, at high tide, the sea often surrounds the bridge making it appear that it does indeed lead "nowhere".  It is a very evocative sight and is one of the most photographed places in East Lothian.

There is a large car park next to the bridge which is beside the town's surf school.  Another access point for Belhaven Sands is at John Muir Country Park on the other side of the bay, from here access is available at all times and via paths.

Both coastal car parks are pay and display: £2.50 for the day.(Locals can apply for a permit here).
