Description:

Since 2008, Sustaining Dunbar has been bringing people together to create new initiatives, which support people to thrive within a flourishing environment.

We aim to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, reduce CO2 emissions and help us cope with the challenges climate change is already bringing; extreme weather and challenging economic times. Sustaining Dunbar is a charitable membership organisation and is free to join.

We believe that key to all this is

  • learning new skills
  • strengthening local networks and relationships
  • restoring and enhancing the local environment
  • creating meaningful work and new local employment opportunities
  • building a more equal, more caring community

We organise regular work sessions at Belhaven Community Garden - Saturday afternoons 2-4pm with tea & cake after the session. As well as a regular second Sunday of the month stroll that starts at the Harbour battery 14.00 destination Belhaven Community Garden. Soon we will also once again organise films, talks and social potluck suppers.
