Groundswell Scotland is a surf therapy organisation which is part of an international community which aims to support women to surf and spend time in the sea as a vehicle to achieve enhanced mental health, well-being and community with a particular focus on supporting women who have experienced trauma. Groundswell Scotland surf programmes having been running in Scotland since 2018; stemming from the lack of gender diversity in surfing and increasing mental health concerns, alongside research publications which indicate significant mental health benefits from being in and around water (a ‘blue mind’), and health benefits of surfing (the mind-set and fitness that goes with taking part in the sport).

We deliver community sessions which are open to all as well as our surf therapy programmes. Sessions include breathwork, mindfulness, yoga and movement, journaling, surf safety, surf coaching and fun!

Please check out our booking site for all our sessions, courses, retreats and surf festival.
